After a hard fought game with the Refs... I mean opposing team, the Civic Center Ward was able to pull off their first win in tournament play! The opponent had some good plays though, especially 2 techs on Lance for "flopping" when a player drove to the basket (apparently the player did not touch him, and because he still fell, he deserved a technical foul), and also another one for "mocking", when he was getting himself pumped by counting off the seconds with his own version of an arm count, as we attempted to hold the opponent in the backcourt for the turnover. Since this arm count was similar to the one the ref uses when he counts the seconds a team has been in the backcourt, he was once again slapped a technical foul without hesitation.
But these refs weren't all that bad. Once the red team had 6 players on the court when they inbounded the ball, and the refs realized that they had already given enough technical fouls for the game, and kindly asked one player to sit on the bench. Oh, and the one ref that makes an appearence in these photos happens to be the only ref that didn't give Lance a tech. :D I liked him.

Once again, obviously not written by Pauline, this time by Kevin.
But, I whole heartedly agree!
Now those are some good lookin' unis!! Back in my day all we had were those crazy-neon-80's-tie-on jerseys.
man .. i really wish that I could be there for one of the games ! But you guys look super hot in your green little outfits.. i see neon green .. the new black?
GO BOOGERS GO!!!! Man you gotta love church ball and the bias against the winning team. Just keep playing hard and there is nothing the refs can do. Well, don't play too hard, because I'm sure if you accidently ran into an opposing player they would throw you out.
Hey Wadsworth Family. We found you! Great job "CC" ward. Hope you didn't beat our Sunrise Terrace boys too bad. Check out our blog! Love the Green Family.

It's always great to see that our friends are keeping an eye on us too. I love looking at your guy's blog every once and a while to see what you're up to.
And mom, you shouldn't worry so much...I've never heard of anyone being excommunicated over a blog post...yet...
;)
Won again last night. The refs were in a better mood and the boys were on their best behavior. Next week will be the tough one. Kevin and Lance have games at Liberty (waaay far away) and we don't know if they will be done in time to play at the church game.
